Kyrstyn Johnson loves being a mother. She had twin girls in 2015, born premature and at risk for SIDS, but they grew up healthy. In 2017, she gave birth to a son, Mayson Michael, who was healthy, happy, and reaching milestones.
Just days before his 8-month birthday, Mayson suddenly stopped breathing and passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Kyrstyn was devastated and struggled deeply with grief and mental health after losing her son.
Despite the pain, Kyrstyn decided to honor Mayson’s life by raising awareness about SIDS. She wants parents to understand that babies should always sleep on their backs to reduce SIDS risk. She hopes sharing her story will help other grieving families feel less alone and encourage compassion and support.
Kyrstyn continues to celebrate Mayson’s memory and urges everyone to be kind and aware that others may be silently suffering.
