A farmer went to town with his dog and tied her up outside a bar while he went in for a drink. Soon, the town policeman came in and asked,
“Is that your dog outside?”
“Yes, officer. Why?” the farmer replied.
The policeman said, “I think she’s in heat.”
The farmer frowned, “No, no, I tied her in the shade.”
The officer tried again, “No, I mean… she wants a mate.”
The farmer nodded thoughtfully and said, “Well, why didn’t you just say so?
Go ahead—I’ve always wanted a police dog.”
LOL!! An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard. I could tell by his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
He approached me calmly, and I patted him on the head several times.
Then he followed me into my house, walked slowly down the hall, curled up in the corner, and fell asleep. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out. The next day, he was there again, greeted me in my yard, walked inside, and resumed his spot in the hall, and again slept for about an hour.
From time to time, it lasted several weeks.
Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: “I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.’
The next day, he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: “He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under 3 years old – he is trying to catch up on his sleep. Please, may I come with him tomorrow?’
