Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has held ex-President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party responsible for the recent aviation accident in Washington.
According to media reports, during a speech at the White House, Trump, without providing any evidence, claimed that the recruitment of unqualified individuals in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may have contributed to the incident.
He also raised concerns over the actions of the helicopter crew and the control tower, suggesting that the accident could have been prevented. Trump stated that the aircraft was following its designated route, while the helicopter approached directly towards it. He questioned why the control tower, instead of asking the helicopter if it had visual contact with the aircraft, did not issue emergency instructions.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon has launched an investigation into the incident. U.S. Defense Secretary Hague Smith commented that the military helicopter was on a training mission when certain errors occurred.
