In a mysterious and chilling series of events, Nancy Guthrie, the mother of the ‘Today’ show coanchor Savannah Guthrie, has gone missing. Authorities have launched a full investigation, suspecting a possible crime after blood was found in her home. A neighbor has also shared disturbing observations suggesting a kidnapping.
Disappearing without a trace since Saturday, January 31, Nancy Guthrie’s absence has puzzled both family and the authorities. Living in Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson, Arizona, a thorough search and rescue effort is underway, although results have been elusive.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has stated that there’s strong evidence to indicate a crime has taken place. “Investigators believe she was taken from her home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night. Every sign points to a possible kidnapping or abduction,” said Nanos.
He further elaborated, “This is an 84-year-old woman who went to bed like usual on Saturday night, only to be gone by Sunday morning. We are confident that she did not leave her home willingly.”
The police have embarked on reviewing nearby home security footage and have collected potential biological evidence. Every effort is being made to piece together what could have led to her sudden disappearance.
Possible Crime Scene: Blood Found Inside Nancy’s Home
As Sheriff Nanos explained, “Nancy is incredibly sharp and aware, which makes the scenario more alarming. Somebody must have intruded into her home and taken her against her will.”

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by the Sheriff’s Department for any information leading to the capture of those responsible for Nancy’s disappearance.
“We are employing all available resources in our search efforts,” assured Sheriff Nanos. “We will not stop until we find her.”

Most of the community comprises retirees, living a quiet life, which makes the incident all the more perplexing.
