Woman Gets Pregnant and Gives Birth to 6 Girls: What They Look Like 41 Years Later

Posted on May 8, 2026

Doctors gave this woman a disappointing diagnosis – infertility. However, in 1983 the year she became pregnant and gave birth to SIX children at once. Fortunately, all the girls who were born weighing from 1 to 1.6 kg survived. Since then, all the children have grown up, each has their own personal life and family. This is what the unusual children look like 41 years later.

Graham and Janet Walton met at the age of 17. At first they were friends, but soon it grew into deep feelings. When Janet realized that her infertility due to a rare disease prevented her from having children, she openly told Graham about it.

He replied that he was ready to be with her despite this, and that if they could not have children, so be it. At 24, they married, but were unable to conceive despite numerous attempts using the medical technology of the time.

After 12 failed attempts, Janet and Graham decided that if they failed the 13th time, they would turn to adoption. However, on the 13th attempt, a miracle happened – Janet found out that she was pregnant, and soon doctors discovered that she was expecting six children.

Doctors warned that the chances of carrying all the babies to term were extremely small, but Janet was determined.

When labor began at 31 weeks, Janet had to have a Caesarean section to save her babies. All six girls, who were born weighing between 1kg and 1.6kg, survived despite the early birth.

It was a miracle that attracted media attention around the world. After the birth, Janet returned home with the children, and Graham went on maternity leave to help his wife.

They were attended to by several nurses, as the parents had little idea how to care for so many newborns.

Janet and Graham bought about 11,000 nappies a year and barely slept for the first few years of their children’s lives.

Almost 41 years have passed since then, the girls have all grown up, each has her own personal life and family.
