My Husband Expected Me to Host Dinner Right After Giving Birth—His Mom Had Other Plans
I came home with our newborn to a filthy house—and learned my husband had invited friends for dinner.
“Just throw something in the oven,” he said.
Then his mother arrived with trash bags, gathered his mess, and dumped it at his feet.
“Your wife just gave birth. Clean up after yourself.”
When the guests arrived, we handed him an apron and put him in charge.
“I have to clean AND cook?” he complained.
“Imagine doing it after childbirth.”
Later, he apologized. But I wanted more than words.
“Change when nobody’s watching.”
This time, he did.
